Thank you all for your replies. I will try the relevant County Record Offices, and the other places you have suggested. Thanks, alison

You don't say the date of the will you are searching for. If it was after 1858 you would find it in the National Probate calendars which are published annually. Most county archives have copies and they are easy to search as they are alphabetical for each year. Sadly they are not online at all at the present. Find out more about obtaining will by putting 'wills' in the search box just above the threads on here. Anne

A2A doesnt ONLY contain links to TNA, there are other less important sources listed on there. I have found several wills on A2A, lodged in Solicitors Offices, or in private hands. Also try the County Records Office website for the area you are interested in. Cheshire in particular, has an on- line Will ordering service which is fantastic, and lists thousands of Wills. OC

Depends on the county, some counties have will index's online, I know that Wiltshire does, the index I believe is complete, but not all images are online yet.

Is there anywhere online, other than the National Archives site, that I can search for Wills and any other documentation ? I know there is the A2A and DocumentsOnline sites, but I believe they are all linked to the National Archives searches. Is there anywhere else ? Cheers, Alison
