my father was a prisoner of war in 1944 would anyone know if i would be able to view records of his internment at the national archives kew if i was to go there and also how would i go about it. never been there before so dont know the procedure. thanks

You mean he wasnt British but in this country? I didnt know they had those records. If you go to the National Archives on line site you will see all the records they have there and it will give you a reference number for the files in question. Im sure someone will tell you any other info about Kew, but have a good look at their site and the info about visiting.

yes paul youre right he was a paratrooper 156 bn he was presumed missing then comfirmed as a pow in north western europe. i have a print out of his military service which states him as pow.
