I've found a potential match on Pallots, on the record it says by spouse comments '17'. On the original image there is a '17' pencilled under her name. Would you agree that this means she only 17 at the time? (It'd be good if she was as that fits with my research!) Cheers, Sue

Hello, I don't think it is age as on one of mine it says 382. It may be a reference to a further list, but do not know how to find the information.

How disappointing! I'll save it as a possible and perhaps one day we'll find out what it means! Thanks for answering, Sue

Where did the marriage take place Sue?

Jeanne, it was at Saint Matthew's Church, Bethnal Green in 1828 between Robert Wheeler and Mary Stokes. Also on IGI. In 1841 census Mary's dob given as abt 1810 which fitted very nicely with 17 meaning her age on Pallots! Sue

Sue, I have been informed that the number is that of the entry in the register for the parish concerned.
