I'm trying to trace my husband's family, of which he knows very little, and I can't even find the birth of his late father! He was Michael John Shoemark, born 11 April 1936, probably in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and he died in April 1998 in Worthing, West Sussex He married Joan Green, from the Chichester area, in 1957 or 1958. They divorced about 1985 and he later married Vivienne French in April 1994, in Worthing. I really need to be able to get a copy of his birth certificate, to establish who his parents were. On ancestry, I get a long list of people named Summers or Summerton, and a few Shoemarks born around 1900. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks to anyone who is able to help. |
