Lloyds List held at Guild Hall in London lists all losses of ships, and I assume this will also apply in wartime? I may be wrong. It may be worth contacting them to confirm this and to see if there is any entry for this ship. If so you can get a great deal of info. |

I'm having difficulty finding any info on my grandfather mohamed Ali. I know that he married 1917 to Doris K Bulmer. I've heard a story that he owned his own ship which was used by the merchant navy in ww2 and that it was torpedoed, and sadly he was on this ship. Now i've found a ship with the name mohamed ali, used by the merchant navy and was torpedoed in august 1940, does anyone know of any means to find out if he was the original owner or if there was anyone of that name serving on that ship at the time. It could be a coincidence, there were a lot of poeple with that name listed as casulties in the merchant navy 1939 - 1945. Any advice on how to go forward with this info would be greatly appreciated< Lesley |
