With a name like McQuillan (or variants) its a good bet that he is Irish and Con is usually a diminutive of Cornelius in Ireland. Hope this helps |

Looks like it's much older than that Lindy Loo! I googled + found this: The boy's name Connor \c(on)-nor\ is pronounced KAH-ner. It is of Gaelic origin, and its meaning is 'hound-lover'. Anglicized form of Conchobhar (Gaelic), which was the name of a legendary king of Ulster who lived at the time of Christ. |

Does anyone know if Con (male christian name) is short for anything else, I suspect it's Irish can anyone confirm that also. Thanks in advance for your info. |
