'Admons' are listed with wills in the annual probate calendars. These can be found at many county record offices for the whole country. But probably not as recently as 1960!. |

In 1984 letters of administration were required for estates exceeding £1000. |

If we're talking post 1857, I think admins (letters of administration) appear in the annual Probate Calendars or index. You can then get a copy from the Probate Office at York, for £5. Most county record offices and some large libraries have the Calendars on fiche. Jay |

If their estate was worth more than about £5,000 (not sure of the exact amount), then someone would have to apply for Letters of Administration so that they could sort out the estate. I'm not sure whether you can find copies of these or not. Maybe someone else would know. Kath. x |

if somebody died without leaving a will,is there a paper trail i can follow ,ie power of attorney ,that sort of thing,from 1960 onwards.kev |
