Legislation was introduced in NZ parliament yesterday to restrict access to birth, marriage and death certs to self, immediate family and people who were born over 100 years ago. They expect it to upset family historians and genealogists. At least they have that right. More political correctness gone mad in the interests of privacy and to prevent identity fraud - and they don't even have the index on line Peter |

I don't think stopping me buying a birth cert will do much to prevent it. Surely access for research purposes is more important. P |
