Christine, thank you for looking. Ozi, in 1881 she was married to my 2 x greatgrandfather, Charles Henry Johnson, although she is on the census as Caroline b. in Pontefract. Judi, Eveline's half brother is actually mistranscribed as 'Cundle' and he is living with his brothers in Otley. This entry matches up with his birthplace and the fact that he was a farmer. Clare, I have just had a look at Purston Jaglin and it is very close to Pontefract so I really think this is the right place. Thank you all so much for your time. Susan

Hi Susan It could be Purston Jaglin. On autoroute it is an area of Pontefract. Try googling it and you come up with other info from Genuki and Pontefract FHS Cheers Clare

Hi Susan Tracing back through Eveline's half brother Robert I found his father in the 1851 census. He had a daughter Emily of the correct age in the 1861 census. I found an Emily Cundall born in the Sept quarter of 1853, marrying Joseph Crossley in the Dec qtr of 1875, Halifax, 9a, 654. They are both listed in the 1881 census. Could this be the one? Judi

I have an ancestor, Eveline Cundall, born abt. 1854. On the 1871 Census she is transcribed as being born in Parston, Yorkshire. She is with her half-brother in Thornton, Bradford. Could someone tell me where Parston is. It doesn't sound familiar to me. As I can't find her on the 1861 Census and she is on the 1881 Census as 'Caroline' from Pontefract I'm a little confused. Thanks for any help. Susan
