I have a Jean Cunningham (c1923) who married Josaih J Smith they had a least three daughters Brenda, Doreen and Pamela DOB 25.06.1950. Jean died aged 35. I have searched the BMD for the period 1937 - 1950 for the marriage and found nothing. Finding the death is virtually impossible as there are so many Jean Smith's. I have found Pamela birth which does confirm Jeans maiden name but that's it I'm afraid. Any suggestions?

Linda, I assume you have checked the complete index, so can you give us any idea as to when they married? Do you think Pamela was first born? have you tried looking for the marriage after Pamela was born?

Hi Keith, Yes I have searched every quarter for marriages from1937/8 to 1950 on Complete BMD on Ancestry to no avail. Pam I believe was the youngest, I know Brenda was the eldest but Pam and Doreen may have been the other way round.

Will take a look for Brenda and Doreens births, see if we can narrow the timescale for marriage. What area are we looking for? Update I see it was Camberwell

Are you searching on SMITH....or CUNNINGHAM ? There is just a chance that Jean may have been previously married ..and widowed,as Brenda was born just after the war. Her marriage would then be under another name although her maiden name would show on the girls' birth registrations. Gwyn
