I know when my GGrandmother died (1936), where she lived and died but how do locate which cemetary she was buried in - given that her husband (first name as yet unknown) had predeceased her by six years and the WWII was hotting up by then. Not to go into too much info in public this Lady deserves some flowers at the very least, (as well as some clues to her husband!). I intend to wander around two chosen cemetaries (proximity to residence). If she was buried with her husband then she may be in a chronologically related area but if there's no headstone.... Its a long way from where I live and any clues would really be appreciated. I did try the records office in Wandsworth but they could not help. Julie |

Have you tried contacting the parks & cemeteries department of the Council where you think she may be buried. I contacted my local council regarding one of my rellies - as long as you have the date of death I think they should be able to help. |

Have just contacted them again and found that it must have been wrong time/wrong person before as a lovely lady is trawling through the Records to locate her! Apparently there is a fee of £40.00 if you don't know any dates etc but as we do it's free! She hoped to contact me soon, so fingers crossed! Not there yet. Thanks for pointing me back to what I thought was a closed door. Cheers Jane! Kind Regards Jules |
