I think the names on Search are those that have been put on family trees. So if you enter them on your family tree, they will become searchable.

Not quite sure which part of Genes you mean. 'my tree matches' or 'my surname summary'or 'Name search' contains all the names entered in trees. By some weird and wonderful logic you cannot see your own! Some members overcome this by having two accounts and viewing from second account.

Basically, when you put a person name in the quick search and then you get a list of names

Jim your right. I do have two accounts and I have just checked through a seprate account and I can see my relatives that I put down on the tree. Rowena

Rowena Names on trees are searchable - the way to enter information about the people on your tree is to put it on your tree. If you mean you are 'Trying to Find' a particular person, then put a message on that board, or better still on the dedicated name boards (History???). The only information you can enter on GR, is information about your own relatives, in your own tree, and then SEARCH to see if anyone else has the same person named on the site. OC
