Yes, I have dozey ones who put their name as their previous married name and then single in the status box - but the fathers surname has confirmed who they are. |

If its any help my g grandfather married a widow and on the cert it has her married name then widow in conditon and her father has a different name - presumabley her maiden name |

It would depend if she was being honest or not. I would always look under both names, just to be sure. |

can anyone tell me if a woman remarried in 1918 after being widowed would they use there married name or maiden names on the register |

Hi Angela, I suspect she would use her married name, but could possibly have returned to maiden name, but unlikely in my opinion if widowed. |
