Sorry for the confusion. It's just that I use Ancestry for my census look ups and not the 'Official PRO site' which Genes transfers you to. The mention of 'Muker' is actually in the civil parish column and not the occupation column, so it's where these particular Calverts are living. However I don't think this is the family you are looking for as the William on there in Muker is born 1899 and his father is called David. Kath. x |

Sorry, I'm not making myself clear, lol. Which of the names were you looking up on the 1901 census. I can't find any reference to a Calvert on the 1901 census with 'muker' in it. Kath. x |

Was your friend's father definitely William Thomas, as there is this birth for a Thomas William Calvert in Hull:- Name: Thomas William Calvert Year of Registration: 1906 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Hull County: Yorkshire - East Riding, Humberside Volume: 9d Page: 305 Kath. x |

Hi Kath, Success with deleting, thank you. A friend asked if I could find any information regarding his father William Thomas Calvert, also his grandfather William Edward Calvert. Sketchy on dates and places, but I think William Thomas would have been born around earily 1900's. Possibly in the Hull/Yorkshire area. That's the only information which he has at the moment. It's near Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Close to a place called Gunnerside. What is the name you are looking at and where abouts are they? Kath. x |

It's in Swaledale..........Have you heard of Richmond in Yorkshire? well it's near there. In Yorkshire the word 'Mucker' means a good friend. Re : Occupation, I wondered if it had something to do with farming ? Ann |
