Many thanks, folks. I'll have to get one. All the best, Rob

The only time i do anything with trees on this site now is view a couple of trees i have access to. I always use the old tree programme as the new one never seems to work properly. If anyone wants to see my tree i now have the free FTM website up and running (another useful thing in the £13 package) and they use that instead of this site. Glen

Just to endorse what Glen said, I got FTM 2006 from TWR computing (about £12.00) and its great. You can print a wide selection of trees from ancestors, or descendants, and also an all-in-one tree to show all your family. GR used to do an 'old program' tree, which I thought was much better than the new style!

Rob I couldn't really answer your question but offer a tip instead. Use another way to store your tree info on in addition to GR. The GR tree builder is very basic and full of glitches, it isn't always available and bits seem to break with alarming regularity. I gave up with GR tree building a long time ago and use Family Tree Maker, it can handle cousins marrying and allows me to print of my whole tree or parts of it as well as show photographs alongside the names and lots of other options just for tree printing. The cost (about £13 online) is worth the money for the backup alone and is little more than the annual GR charge. For your money the programme works out cheaper anyway as it will last you for years. You don't even need to be online to edit, print and play with the tree printing options (there are several ways to print your tree that GR will never be able to manage). TWR computing is a useful site that sells all versions of FTM, well worth a look. Glen

I'm having a few problems, and wondered if any kind person out there has a way round them. I'm trying to print off a copy of my tree for easy reference, but when I go to the 'Print tree' page, I can alter the size and orietation, but the 'menu bar' on the left of the screen to let me scroll and print doesn't work. Help please!!
