With a common name like that, your problem will be that there are too many possibles. Do you have his birth date? If you do, and if he lived until 1969, then the death index lists date of birth so it will be a case of trawling through the index until you find a Frank Jackson death with the right birthdate. If he died before 1969, the death index will only give you an age at death, and therefore the approx year of birth. Unless you know the area where he died, I think that you'll find too many possibilities. According to FreeBMD, there were 8 Frank Jacksons born in Greater London between 1896-1900 - which one is yours? The English death certs don't name the parents either, which won't make your task any easier (how will you know that you've got the right one?). You can search the deaths index for free at ancestry*com. Good luck! Richard
