I have a few women in my family tree who I don't know how to get their maiden names. Any ideas? Here is all the information I have. Selena Kitchen (married name) born abt 1864 in Plumtree Nottingham. Married George Henry Kitchen (year unknown) and had first child in 1898. Mary Kitchen (married name) born abt 1832 in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Married Daniel Kitchen (year unknown) and had first child in 1865. Any ideas would be a great help. Vicky X

The most obvious, and foolproof, way is to obtain the birth cert for any child of either woman. Alternatively, find the marriage registrations......... Reg

I feel like such an idiot! I found the information on Mary Kitchen from the 1881 census, I didn't even think to look at the 1871 census! Thanks ever so much. Vicky X

Sorry, I haven't had time to thank the people who came up with. Mary Ann Maples. That information seems to fit and I have added it onto my tree. Thanks again Vicky X
