Looking thru BT on Ancestry, I came across an entry for A. Bannock of Drayton Garage, Cosham. The period spanned was 1925-1940, any observations from anyone local, please. Derek in France

What are you hoping to find out Derek? Cosham is at the northern part of Portsmouth, ie. on the 'mainland' not Portsea Island. Drayton is east of Cosham...towards Havant but still classed as part of Portsmouth, I believe. Gwyn

Looking at Hampshire directory 1939:- Bannock Arth. A.M.I.M.E. motor car garage, Havant Rd, Drayton, Cosham, phone no 76061. In the 1964 Kellys directory there is a Cyril F Bannock, 46 Idesworth Rd, Cosham. Havant Rd was part of the old A27. Keith

Thank you kind folks, just come on after watching the football. I think Keith has answered the question. One of my rellies moved from Braintree, Essex to Portsmouth area and although not marrying, he helped raise three kids, one of whom I know. He was Arthur Bannock. Cyril F Bannock is another branch of same family, all on my tree. This is all new info and I thank you both, Gwyneth and Keith. Thanks for your time, Derek PS are the directories online
