Trying to trace Thomas Edward Butler, born in Ireland around 1821/24. Family legend states that he was a child (possibly illegitimate) of the Butlers of Kilkenny Castle, and left Ireland when his mother died and his father re-married. He probably married before leaving Ireland. Has anyone had any experience of research at Kilkenny, or any advice on how I should tackle this problem. |
