Please will someone tell me I am not going crackers.......... I have been trying to order a birth cert on line and have completed all the boxes correctly.....THEN it says... Date of birth must be a valid non future date in the format dd-mm-yyyy. Well I have put in. 23.8.1913............I have put in 23 August 1913.....I have even put in 23rd August 1913......but it still keeps throwing it out and saying I must have a valid birth date etc etc etc. What am I doing wrong please. Try 23 08 1913. But you dont actually NEED to put this in if you have the GRO reference, and personally, I wouldn't anyway, as it will be rejected if the date is wrong for any reason. OC

Try putting a 0 in front of the month ie 08. It is just a small thing but happened to me once.

shouldn't need date if got GRO ref did you say yes at begining that you knew GRO ref? Jeanette

The penny has dropped, or should I be honest and say that 'him indoors' found the answer...... It has to be 23/08/1913 and not any of the ones in my original message. Yes he is crowing, but I will get my own back. hee hee hee Kathlyn
