I have found a brother and sister for my grandad from the 1901 census grandad was born 1903 and I know he has more but thses were born after 1901 how would I trace them up? thanks Julie

Julie between 1901 & 1912 you have to buy birth certificates to check if they belong to the right parents, from 1912 the mothers maiden name is included on birth indexes so it's easier to sort out children born to the same parents. Georgina.

Thanks did wonder what year mothers name on indexs I have been given info by a aunt that grandad had a younger brother known as sunny she dont know his real name ..oh well thanks anyway

Julie I dont know if it will help but my father was called Sonny, because he had the same first name as his father so rather than confuse matters he was always called Sonny I wonder if it was the same for your rellie? Georgina.

If they happened to die between 1984-2004 you can find the birth dates from the death registration on Ancestry, Margaret

well I have just been on ancestry put in 1912 and mothers maiden name came up with a Fredrick only problem he not on that page that they put up Fredrick born 1913 .Sonny not nicked name for that reason as first born got dads name thanks anyway, getting back to Fredrick could any one have a look at the page as I might have missed him hopefully, mothers maiden name Berwick thanks

I have just gone thru my list of certs that I am going to order and if I have Sarah Berwicks correct birth cert to order Sarahs father is called Fredrick on 1881 census thanks everyone for your time I going to sign off now
