hi, Its defantly Hurtley not Hartley, on her marriage cert its isabella Hurtley (father thomas a boatman) and on her sons birth cert maiden name is Hurtley. Isabella and her father thomas are nowhere to be found in 1841 and 1851 . Isabella married in 1858 in burnley lancs , but have never found her family before she married or after in yorkshire or lancashire.even with name variations! its so frustrating. All i know is that from census in burnley, after she married, is that she says she was born in 1837/38 in silden yorks. thankyou, Sharmala |

Hiya Sharmala, how sure are you that it is Hurtley. Looking on the census for 1861 there are families transcribed as Hartley and on the 1851 I can't see any, Joan. |
