As most of you know - I'm helping my friend try to locate her natural (biological) mother who unfortunately had to put my friend up for adoption due to circumstances ........... After ordering the birth certificate - Bradford Registry Office rang me back today to confirm some personal details and have told me the mothers name Now all I have to do is find the Mother !! TJ I don't want to be a wet blanket, but please proceed with every caution now, and sit and think about all the various scenarios your friend might meet if she tries to make personal contact with her BM. If you type 'Adoption' into the search box on this board, you will get lots of hits, with much advice on how to proceed next - and other people's experiences. the first contact is of the utmost importance - you do not get a second chance. I hope all goes well for your friend and wish her a happy outcome. OC |

Thats FANTASTIC Tj. I am really really pleased for you. Please have a look at some of the Adoption threads on here though. There can be pitfalls in contacting Birth relatives..............it's an exciting time BUT it pays to be aware of what could happen. Regards Ann |

You could start by searching in the area where your friends Birth was registered. |

You could start a bit closer to home - HERE! Found my b/mum on this site 2 years ago....... I agree with the wise words - yes it's exciting but believe me, even if things go really well its still a rolercoaster.. Good Luck!! :) Elly |
