Its possible if the father was there. I think he was supposed to agree but at this early date there are some exceptions. I have seen a certificate with the father's name crossed out (by the official people) but you can actually still clearly see the name!!! Anne |

Completely off topic but can someone tell me why when I add to a thread the time at which I add changes and sometimes is entered as before the thread was even posted!!!??? My computer clock is fine! Anne AARRGGH its done it again. Now when I add to the thread it goes right down the list! |

does anyone know if a birth in 1844 would be registered in the fathers name even if the parents were not married? regards michelle |
