Hi Kathleen, You can say that again about the number of couples with those names. My Mary Roberts was born in Kirkby, lancashire. In the 1891 census John was not around, ie. Mary was Head, and listed as General Labourers wife. So, was he dead and why was Mary listed as General labourers wife if he was??? Kathlyn |

I am unable to find the following couple in the 1871 census.. John Roberts....wife, Mary Roberts born 1851 and daughter Mary Ellen born abt. 1870 They would be living in the Liverpool area. I have found a family of that name in the Tipton, Staffordshire area, but I am pretty sure they are not the ones as the birth place stated for Mary is incorrect. Any suggestions please. Kathlyn |
