I have a BIG request - is anyone going to the above records office in the near future? If you are - would you be willing to do some electoral roll look-ups for me please? I really would be very grateful as I live in Devon & have 2 small children so I do most of my research on the net but of course, the electoral rolls are not on the net! My fingers are crossed that a kind soul will be able to help!!! Thank-you S |

Michelle, You are a STAR!! I'm looking for details of occupancy of two properties for the period 1920 to approx 1965. Michelle, I am new to this game, and I have NO IDEA exactly what this will entail. I am helping my Mum research her ancestry and she lived in these properties during her childhood with her Mum. Her Mum is being quite obstructive in revealing details of Mum's childhood to the extent that she won't reveal who My mothers father is. My Mum is hoping the the details of the occupancy may give some help. As I said, I have NO idea, exactly how much work this is. I fully appreciate you are doing your own research so if this is too big a job then I'll ask Mum to narrow down the dates. Once again, thank-you for your offer, you're a star!! S |

lol, that makes two us! i'm pretty new to this game too. After exhausting all the census returns and IGI, i'm now attempting parish records which is totally new territory to me! send me a personal message with details of the addresses and i'll do my best. I shall be going to the library first, as its literally on my doorstep. i noticed someone on here mentioned that electoral rolls can be obtained at the local library, so we may have some luck there best wishes michelle |

Cheers, When are you planning to go? It's just that if it is next week then I will just fire off a quick letter to Mum to ask her to be more specific with the dates (don't want to take the mick of your kind offer) ;0) |
