Hi Linda You may find it under Chorley, Lancs. Some of my rellies ended up there and all BMD's are listed under Chorley. There used to be a really good general forum for Adlington but it seems to have disappeared off the web. If anyone knows if it's moved URL can you let me know please as I used to like popping in from time to time. Sylvia

Try the parish of Leyland too - my Adlington lot seemed to use Chorley and Leyland indiscriminitely. OC

Hello all, I am originally from Adlington so know it quite well. (Assuming you mean the Adlington in Lancashire as opposed to the Adlington in Chesire) Some of the confusion that may occur is that there are quite a few very small villages in the area and the boundaries have changed over the years. These are: Adlington, Anderton, Heath Charnock (or Charnock Heath), Rivington, Major Bottoms, Anglezarke. It was originally in the Leyland Hundred. Most bmd records would have been recored in Chorley. Feel free to contact me if you would like any other local information. Tina in France researching: BARLOW LIDERTH CATON CATTERALL BIMSON PINCHES
