on the 1851 census aspull wigan lancashire THOMAS CORNER age 25 coal miner born blackrod lancashire MARY CORNER age 23 wife born adlington lancashire RICHARD CORNER age 3 son born aspull lancashire MARY CORNER age 5 daughter born aspull lancashire WILLIAM CORNER age 1 son born aspull lancashire RICHARD FRANCE age 58 father in law coal miner born adlington lancashire i presume then that mary's maiden name is france but i cant find a mariage anywhere for a corner and france on the 1871 census mary corner the daughter is now called mary france and has a daughter called elizabeth france ? its a puzzle to me love linda |

Hi Lindy How about this one between Mary France and Thomas GOMER Year of Registration: 1849 (Jul QTR) District: Wigan County: Greater Manchester, Lancashire Volume: 21 Page: 629 No Thomas GOMER married to a Mary on census Cheers...Paul |

Looks like it, I also did a search for Thomas Gomer married to a Mary in the Census and it came up with a a guy born and living in Hertfordshire. Not imposible but unlikley. HTH ... Paul |

The first son is listed as 5 in 1851. Here's his birth: Births Dec 1845 France Richard Wigan 21 779 Doesn't look like Mary was married at that point. Rose |

so did mary france marry a thomas corner or thomas gorner? if richard and mary were born france and not corner then where does that leave all this i told you i was confused love linda x |
