Is there any way to get records of people who served and survived WWII? My grandad served in the navy. I don't know a lot, except he was from Edinburgh, and was posted in Bedfont, Middlesex, where he met my nan. I think it was towards the end of the war. I havent been able to find any information on his time serving though, unfortunately.

The other good thing with the War Graves website is that it will often give some detail on parents and spouse. Also there will be details of where they are buried thus giving the opportunity to visit if you can cope with all that emotion. Excellent website!! Jack Walker

Yes, it's a great site and also has names of some civilian deaths as well as those in the forces. Kath. x

Hi for people trying to get information about relatives lost during the wars I found the Commonwealth War Graves Commission at www.cwgc.org very useful indeed. Good Luck.
