Hi It could be Williamina ! Williamina could be shortened to mina, minnie, winnie etc. |

hi gerry.....it must have been an affectionate nickname....my mums sister was gladys....we called her aunty gladys.......other cousins called her aunty minnie....don`t know why....its always puzzled me.....regards.....allan |

A rellie in my tree was called Minnie, as a name in itself, apparently quite popular then. When she married, she became Minnie Cooper - and a car was named after her!! what a conicidence. |

it could be short fo Whilamina or jusr a pet name as well as a name in it's own right. only one I can see is: Births Dec 1892 (>99%) Eaglestone Minnie Paddington 1a 50 this one certainly fits the age of the girl from Greenwich on the 1901 (daughter of Richard and Annie). The only way to discount her is to order the certificate. |

Could be just Minnie!! The girl's name Minnie ..........Variant of Mary and Wilhelmina. Popular as an independent in the 1870s. |
