Hi all can son-in-law also mean stepson? On the 1851 census I have a James Stantial with his wife Harriet, their daughter Ann aged 7 (my gtx2 grandmother) and a Thomas Burgess age 18 listed as son-in-law. Burgess was Harriet's maiden name..... so am thinking that maybe he was Harriet's son prior to her marriage to James. Any thoughts? |
