Hi Reggie and Mary The marriage cert was 1876 Liverpool. Fly Boardman has signed his name and it doesn't look like an abbreviation. I did search him on the BMD and census records - he doesn't seem to be a member of the family of Thomas Boardman born about 1856 (the groom). No Fly came up and if I remember only one F Boardman who was at sea and appears down south later on. I could have missed something. Reggie - I could scan the cert in and let you see it if you let me have your e mail add by PM... Thanks. Liz

Hi - have checked that it is not saying Ely - it's clearly an old fashioned F. Any ideas what Fly might be short for? Thanks. Liz
