I would say that it is literally a 'stone house'. I have one described as 'cottage half-way up lane'!! Reg

Hi All, i have an address of one of my rellies in Lancashire and it says: 'Off Leigh Rd Stone House', can anyone make out what it means,am i missing something? i know 'Leigh Rd' is a road, but what is 'Stone House'? is it a place? Maybe--a house of stone Lol!!!!! Chris.
