Re the marriage: Last shot - going back to Camberwell marriages in 1880 Edward John Abbott Alfred Clay Ellen Forrest Katherine Nicholson Supersleuths reckon this one is a red herring, both couples turn up together in later census - so not the marriage you want. They are still working on it bless them, but it does look like that top lot in 1891 are yours and possible births there match for you. You may want to come over to the other site to thank them and see what else they turn up? Its invite only, so send me your email addy.

1891: RG12; Piece: 217; Folio 84; Page 7 Possible family – children fit. St Clement Danes The mum isn't from Ireland this time, They are down as Gebbie. Alfred Gebbie 30 working as general labourer, born Holborn Kate Gebbie 23 looks like she's working as a hawker b. St. Giles. Ellen Gebbie 6 born Holborn Margaret Gebbie 3 born Holborn Thomas Gebbie 1 born Strand This is right area for Strand/Drury Lane births. I am wondering if Alfred DID marry Katherine in 1880 Camberwell and that she is mother of eldest children, died/left home and Alfred married/lived with 2nd Catherine Gibbard? 1890 Mar : Strand [right district acc. To 1901 census] 1b Page: 652 Possible birth: Thomas Clay 1885 Oct-Nov-Dec Fulham [wrong district acc. To 1901 census] 1a Page: 180 Possible birth: Margaret Clay

Question for you from sleuths: Does anyone know which 1922 death for Mary Gibbard is the one involved in this? There's one aged 70 and one aged 56. I'm guessing it's the one aged 56, but I can't find a Mary with a John Gibbard together on a census.....esp if I need a John born in Ireland like Catherine!!

Where you were! 1881 11 Poplar Place, London Julia GIBORD Head married 33 Ireland Water Cress Seller Kate GIBORD Sister Uunmarried 15 St Pancras Water Cress Seller Further comment: This blinkey couple above are listed as married for Julia (no hubby) and unmarried for her 'sister' Kate, but both Gibbard. So, more confusion! More likely Julia is Kate's unmarried mother, sent over from Ireland to have her child. Needless to say, I can't find them in 1871!

Hi Heather, I have just sent you an email. Thankyou so much for all your help, I really appreciate it. Mary Gibbard was 56 when she died, so you are right with that one, I have that certificate about the only one I have got lol. Got to nip out for a while, but I will be back this afternoon, thanks again.

Lorraine, Ive sent you an invite to the other site where the sleuths are still pondering this mad one. Its a very big site, lots happening - you need to go to Genealogy and then on the Research board to catch up on your query. Good luck.
