Hi Amy this is the info you need Henry A I Glastonbury, mother's maiden name Search, District Bristol, Vol 6a page 349 April/May/June 1922. To Order ONLINE go to http://www.gro.gov.uk Just follow the instructions on how to order a certificate. It is quite easy to follow. Look out for the words Births, Obtaining birth certificates written in brown(links) + click on them (you will see what I mean once you get there) Regards Ann

Hi Amy, the GRO reference (6a 349) is only used to order the certificate from the GRO, the local office does not use the same system. If you wish to order it from the GRO online, go here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ You need to ensure you have the GRO index known? box is ticked, otherwise it will cost you more. You need to enter the GRO reference when asked. Also will need district and quarter/year.

If you do it on the GRO website, yes. If you contact Bristol, they should be able to find it from the information you gave us (give them mother's maiden name for good measure).

I would like to request a birth certificate but dont know where the person was born. I am interested in HEnry Arnold Ivan Glastonbury born 3/4/1922. Its likely he was born somewhere in the south west but there is no guarantees. Would anyone know where I can go from here at all please? I'm relatively new to this so I'm a bit lost.
