Please can anyone help me, I need to know where Jessie Maud Steer was born, she was born about 1879ish, I know her parents are reputed to be of Scottish origins. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Might this possibly be her marriage? Jessie Maud Steer 1902 Jul-Aug-Sep Brighton Sussex, East Sussex Volume: 2b Page: 542 The cert would tell you the name and occupation of her father, which may prove helpful when trying to locate her. Reg

Reggie I have bought too many certificates lately to be able to buy another one for the next few months at least, I was going to wait and not do this side of the family until a few months later into the year, but I have rellies in Oz that I am only recently in contact with who are desperate to know more, I have photos of the Steer's going back 4 generations and need to know more about them.

You need to locate her on the 1881 census, which will identify her place of birth. Reg

I have a very large Steers family in London - originating Devon. There is a Steer/Steere/Steers forum with an extremely knowledgeable chap - Jack Steer - just google Steer forum to join. He should be able to help you. In fact, Ill be even kinder than that - Ill mail you his email addy so you can write to him direct - give him all your Steer details and Im sure hed love some photos - I sent him my Steers photos. Will pm you now.
