None other than she'd decided to be called something different from the name she'd been given at birth (unless she'd been adopted and chose to mention her previous name). Jack |

I know from previous postings that 'formerly as' on a marrigae cert usually means the bride has been married before however part of the christian name of my bride changes as well i.e. Mary Jane Smith formerly know as Jane Michelle Bloggs. Can anyone suggest reasons for it? |

I'd say she just changed her name for some reason. 'Formerly' on a marriage certificate usually comes before the woman's maiden name. If she had been married before it would say 'Late.....(first married name), formerly...(maiden name). Kath. x |
