Looking at the image it looks more like an S not a D - sister in law would be more logical what was Emmas maiden name< sorry, you said above or did he have a sister susan? More than likely a step-daughter. Daughter in law often meant step daughter in those days. Kath. x

Thanks no Emma was an only child and Ezra had no sister called Susan that i know of,i will double check on that though. Thanks for all your help. xx

Thanks for the input my Gt Gt Grandmother was Emma Garnham nee Bond and Susans surname is Crickmore Susan is only 2 years younger than Emma?? Dont ya just love Ancestors,lol xx

Is her surname the same as your ancestor's? Like Lunar says, she could be stepdaughter, adopted daughter etc, or even someone else's daughter! Mandy :)

Hi In 1901 my Gt Gt grandmother has a Susan Crickmore aged 48 living with her (my Gt Gt grandmother is 53) anyway Susan is supposed to be her daughter in law but her son is already married and he is 22 living Northampton with his wife who isnt Susan,What else could daughter in law stand for. Thanks xx
