It's very strange. FreeBMD is supposed to be complete for that period but it clearly isn't.. Rose

yes margaret that`s him, i just had a problem finding his birth so i could get his cert to find his mothers name... think it`s mary ward but no cert to prove so will have to order thanx everyone sharon

This is probably him on the 1881 census: Hetton le Hole, Easington Lane, Houghton le Spring, Durham Robert Dover, head, 31, Coalminer, born Easington Lane Mary, wife, 28, born Staffordshire George, son, 7 Sarah Jane, dau, 3 Anthony, son, 1 Children all born Easington Lane.

Hi Sharon I always use the findmypast site. I looked from 1878 to 1882 and he was the only Anthony Dover I could find. Nana

There`s an Anthony Dover born Dec qtr of 1879 in Houghton Ref 10a 423 Nana

hi my grandfathere grandfather was called Anthony Dover born abt 1880 but i cannot find his birth, only his uncle 1847 can anyone help please thanx sharon
