Old hands on here will know I LOVE DOCKLAND ANCESTORS site - if you have ancestors who worked on the docks as lightermen/watermen or if you more recent ancestors lived in docklands, you must check out James Legons site - Dockland Ancestors also know as parishregisters*com Anyway, James brilliant site - and its worth joining just to get the amusing monthly newsletter from James - offers books, cds, fiches, lots of stuff and you can search parish records for baptisms in the dockland area churches (with info not available anywhere else on line - baptisms include the fathers job and the address). Just a tip - enter a surname only as that will bring up all people baptised in a particular church/time span with that name. You can then decide whether to download the lot for £2.95. But, at the moment there is a good bargain to be had in the shop under genealogical software, the de luxe Who Do you think you are Family tree maker with cds and guides PLUS 3 months ancestry sub for only £25. Well, the sub alone is worth £21 - so if you are thinking of getting this program, its worth buying from this site. http://www*parishregister*com/ Go to shop and then use the search facility for genealogy software. They post the same day usually.
