Hello, all, I'm new to the site and sure that this will be the first of many questions! Tonight I'm wondering whether it is best to laminate them documents, including certificates, to best protect them? Thanks very much. Sue |

Many thanks, Kate. I can't believe I actually typed 'them documents'! Cheers. |

I'm not sure. If it was a really old certificate, and an original, I think I would be too scared to laminate it. I keep mine in plastic wallets in a ring binder, personally. |

No, definitely don't laminate any old documents. I've been tempted because it looks so nice! Use archive quality document sleeves - look at one of the genealogy shop sites for ideas. Mandy :) |

No - definitely do not laminate them. As suggested you can buy acid free pockets from W.H. Smith for about £1.99 for 50. Kath. x |

Gerri But what about all those 'gruesome' death certs.....Might put the faint hearted off their ice cream! But then again....All the more ice cream for those who got just the 'nice' birth ones :))))) Chris |

Thanks very much to you all - I will be on the lookout for archive-quality, acid-free protective pockets : )! Now all I have to do is find all of those certificates and things ... |
