The numbers refer to her re-registration (in this case she would have been re-registered after her adoption was legally granted). The re-registration won't be in the bmd index. Your only hopes really are to register with the adoption sites (similiar to trying to find boards) and to look at the GRO website under 'adoption'. The laws relating to birth family tracing adoptees changed in 2005, you may have to pay towards the intermediary service who handle the case for you. |

Hiya I'm looking for my adopted sister, I have found her birth registered under her birth name and next to the reference numbers are some hand written numbers/letters, could this be related to her adoption? and if so is there any way of using the reference to trace her? Any advice would be very much apprecited Kirsty Her name is Sadie Smith born 11/08/68 Salford |
