just got my hot matches and yet again loads of rubbish took me ages to delete . why cant they check them out better and pass on only if they are sure , it has become such a neusiance each time the so called hot matches are here. what do you think or are you happy with your matches? |

They would be fine if GR would just listen to us and make them easier to recognise as useless and then easier to delete. If 'Mary Unknown of dont know' came up, we could delete instantly BUT GR insist in putting the contacts name rather than the potential hot match. We then have to click on the name to see they have Mary Unknown and then click on the box and then come out and click on the next one. Its crazy. |

When I get four or so pages I go to last page and tick all the boxes and delete? And so on. I only look at matches of two or more. |

I havent switched mine off, because I am desperately seeking ONE person. Just waded through 6 pages, had 8 possible matches - none of which had a place of birth. Because I AM so desperate, I messaged all 8 'matches' Four have replied - no, not my man, my man was born in da-de-da - well, WHY don't you put that info on your tree then???????? OC |

I just had one O.C. - had the name of a chap who married one of my GGF's grandaughters. It also had my GGF name (2 names one hotmatch). Ive mailed him, Is this XXXX XXXX the chap who married XXXXXX XXXXX. Reply comes 'No sorry, its not him' How on earth can it not be him when the guy even has my GGF name and year of birth on his hotmatch? LOL, never mind, rather not be related to someone that dopey. |

I blocked them from day one...........when a 'hot match' is for two people born 20 years and 200 miles apart, it becomes a joke Reg |

I have had quite a few good matches, some only twiglets but one this week thatw as really good and which gave me more information than I had. So I always check them. One of my matches took me back to the 16th century. Most with proof too. Ann Glos |

Oh dear.....! Not that time of the month again. Hot Matches are what they are. Love em or hate em.If they don't appeal to you then don't bother with them. I always look a them and usually find a couple to enquire on. Yes GR could improve they way they work especially if the birth place is included in the searsh check, but that is some time away as technically is quite hard to do and requires a lot of processing resource. A 'quick fix' for them would certainly be to exclude any names that have no date or Place It dosen't take that long to go through them, I usually manage to check mine in about half an hour at most. |

I agree that they could be more specific - I don't bother replying to the ones with no place of birth but I have had one or two really great ones and for that reason I think they're worth persevering with. Good luck to all. Maria |

I have been away, got my hot matches and I have 49 pages of them. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Why do they give the first name of the person you match with? If they gave the name of the person you matched with I would not have to spend ages waiting for the pages to unfold to find it is not a match. I have gone through all lbar the one matches and will try and catch up but it is quite negative research. Half the time the info you get you cannot check where they got their information for verifying. Still it is good to 'get it off my chest'. Happy hunting everyone. Val xx |

Thank Goodness l'm not the only one who dreads the long list...l dont have the will power to delete without checking..just in case!!! When l do find a couple to reply to, l do not get anything back which is most annoying & frustrating! I keep thinking that maybe this time l'll find what l want.... |

Hi Angela I know 99% of the time they are no good BUT through a HOT MATCH I found the only living person who knew me when I was a baby before my adoption(my B/Mother died when I was months old). Regards Ann |
