I have found Wortwell in Norfolk to be missing on Ancestry in 1861 (it's there on all other years). I looked at the infomation about the census on Ancestry and it indicates missing areas, but Wortwell is not on there. there is a link which directs you to the National Archives to check the 'Piece No' which in this case is RG9/1231. The information on there suggests the records are intact (ie not destroyed). So why is it not on Ancestry? Any ideas gratefully received!! Am off to lunch in 5 mins but will get back in an hour. Thanks all Chris

Yes, Heather, I think contacting Ancestry is the best answer. Thanks! By the way, I notice you are a 'Tinker' now, hope that doesn't mean you're no longer a 'Thinker'! Regards, Chris

Ive been a Tinker on here for over a year Chris. I stopped being a positive thinker and so changed my name just to Heather and people complained and had a little list of names they wanted me to use - this one was the least rude. Im still a thinker on the other site!

Well, blow me down with a feather, Heather(!!), never noticed you were a tinker. I obviously had a more serious name in mind when I thought of you (not!!). Chris x
