Could someone please take a look at the occupation of James Bradford, address given as Patient End, Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire (page 14). He is aged 44, born in Stocking Pelham and listed as the son of James Bayford, Lodger, aged 77, born Stocking Pelham. It says 'Out Pension Chelsea'. Does anybody know what that may mean? Is it something to do with the Chelsea Pensioners? Many thanks Lyndsey

Lyndsey it means he is a chelsea pensioner, he was injured in the services & he gets a pension, some of the soldiers were badly injured so stayed in hospital, others went home & were out pensioners. If you google you will get more info. Georgina.
