I have never used any Electoral Rolls in my family history search. Please does anyone know if a person's date of birth is included in the information. thank you Maggie

No........it isn't. All you can deduce from an Electoral Roll is that anyone included was eligible to vote. Reg

They started in the 1830's BUT at the date you mention there will be quite a few people who were not elligible to vote anyway due to age and gender.

Thank you for that information Derek. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I have no idea when Electoral Rolls were introduced. Would they by an chance be taken around 1879/80? cheers Maggie

Thank you Glen for your reply. The person whose date of birth I want is a male so no doubt he would be able to vote. I have his birth cert but there is some question of his parentage. The date of birth on a document from when he was an adult would confirm or refute my theory. Sorry if this sounds garbled but I know what I mean honestly. cheers Maggie
