I have never used any Electoral Rolls in my family history search. Please does anyone know if a person's date of birth is included in the information. thank you Maggie |

No........it isn't. All you can deduce from an Electoral Roll is that anyone included was eligible to vote. Reg |

They started in the 1830's BUT at the date you mention there will be quite a few people who were not elligible to vote anyway due to age and gender. |

Thank you for that information Derek. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I have no idea when Electoral Rolls were introduced. Would they by an chance be taken around 1879/80? cheers Maggie |

Thank you Glen for your reply. The person whose date of birth I want is a male so no doubt he would be able to vote. I have his birth cert but there is some question of his parentage. The date of birth on a document from when he was an adult would confirm or refute my theory. Sorry if this sounds garbled but I know what I mean honestly. cheers Maggie |
