Hi I have been trying to find on free bmd the birth cert for Ellie Chapman born 1898/1899 could not find any thing for Ellie or any of the other names that you kind people suggested so has anybody else got any ideas for me plz thanxs x |

Hi thanks thought of them as well I.v just had a thought mums name was Sarah maybe she Sarah Elle as grandad was Henry John and didnt put Henry down just John on census could have just answered my own question! |

It could be Eleanor................Or Isabelle.......Isabella? Or maybe just a nickname. I think I would try Isabelle, sounds the most likely Regards Ann |

How about Ellen or even Helen. Did you spell Eleanor correctly, you have missed out the a in your message so you may not have realised how it was spelt. I suppose it could also be Eileen Ann Glos |

just remember some thing I meant to put on here ages ago, my grandfather had a sister and on the 1901 census her name is Elle any ideas as to what this could be short for as been looking for Elenor and also Ellie but no joy |
