Hi Heather I REALLY must be off to bed!! LOL I have my computer on a peice of wood so it is lifted off the carpet therefore avoiding overheating! The disc error check takes a while to do but it tells you step by step where it's at. It should do the trick. Regards A very sleepy Ann! |

Thanks Ann but there is no tools tab on mine. Ah, it wasnt on the D thingy it was on the local disk thingy. Ive clicked to check but it says has to close down first, so Ive scheduled it to check on start up next time. Thanks for any help. Its such an awful feeling of insecurity when things like that happen isnt it. I have had so much trouble with this computer from day one and it was an expensive set up - never buy MESH. Possibly is overheating - the fans are all useless on this puter, had some changed once - away for 3 weeks but as soon as I turned it on, the noises all started again. I now sit here with the side off and for the first few minutes I stick my hand in on two of the fans to get them to run properly. |

i have had the blue screen loads of times,i think sometimes when you delete files or uninstall programs, somewhere several programs may be sharing the smae files, you get rid of 1 and it takes a bit of the other,or a driver needs updating!kev |

No I have all the anti virus and spy ware stuff on. Its not that - the puter closes to a blue screen and the message in white writing saying an exception occurred or something detected, windows have been closed to avoid damage. It tells you if this is the first time this has happened, restart computer. If it happens again remove all new hardware and software and reinstall. (I havent got any new hardware or software). |

Hi Heather Have you tried doing an error check on the disc? Just in case you don't know how: Left Click Start..........then Left click My Computer. ... RIGHT click on the D(c:). This will show a drop down menu. Left Click on Properties. You will see a TOOLS tab. Left Click on this + it will show 'error checking' ...click the Check Now box. This will check for any errors on your disc. Good Luck Ann |
