Hello, ive just started researching my family tree but have come unstuck searching the records on GR. I have found relatives on the 1901 census but cannot link them back to the 1851 census because of the gap. how do I search other census and where are they kept. Also I have a couple of leads in the BDMs but again dont know what the indexs relate to...Can anybody help........Thanx.... |

Hi Steven There are several websites that hold census records - but still the best (i.e. with the most complete coverage) is Ancestry - www.ancestry*co.uk (replace * with .) They have all available census 1841-1901. You can sign up for a month's free trial, or alternatively many people on here are happy to do lookups for you to get you started - just put up the info that you already know! Cheers Richard |
